Appropriation Level: $9,553,000

The Bridge Program, which operates in conjunction with the State University of New York's (SUNY) University Center for Academic and Workforce Development, provides 31 local social services districts with employment preparation services specifically designed to provide Family Assistance and other TANF eligible families with the skills and supports necessary to obtain employment. Bridge programs are located at SUNY's 10 Educational Opportunity Centers (EOCs), seven community colleges, a State University College, a One-Stop Center, a community-based organization and the Akwesasne Boys and Girls Club. Activities include job readiness/job search activities, academic services, and short-term skills training.
