Valentine's Day - Daddy-Daughter Dance

Real Dads Network, Proud Poppa and the New York State Fatherhood Initiative presents the 1st Annual Daddy-Daughter Dance. This event will be held Saturday, February 16, 2008 (Valentine's Day weekend) for fathers and their daughters between the ages of 7- and 14-years-old at Landmark on the Park located at 160 Central Park West, N.Y. from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The Daddy-Daughter Dance is a celebration of that special relationship between fathers and their daughters and a tribute to the bond they share. OTDA/OCFS Faith-Based Roundtable on Responsible Fatherhood

In our continuing series of Statewide Roundtable discussions on Responsible Fatherhood, we turn our attention to Faith-Based Institutions. These entities play an integral role in the development of parents in our society. The subject of Fatherhood has been part of an increasing discussion in faith-based organizations around the country. It is our primary goal to bring together faith-based institutions to focus on the area of "support." Traditionally it is in this area that faith-based institutions have provided the most effective work. In the social work and service provider industry, support networks exist for all types of issues and addictions. However virtually no networks exist for men/fathers to discuss their issues, find support or seek advice and information. The goal of this discussion is to establish a network of faith-based organizations that provide support to fathers. Location and date to be announced.
